Friends of the Library of McAlester is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to enhancing the McAlester Public Library in providing informational, recreational, educational, and cultural resources in the community and in creating an awareness in the community of the library and its services.
Friends is also dedicated to supporting ad cooperating with the McAlester Public Library and the Southeastern Oklahoma Library System in developing, maintaining, and enhancing library facilities for the public.
Friends promotes reading in Pittsburg County through our affiliation with the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Affiliates offer the connection point, driving local awareness, enrolling local children, and paying the wholesale cost of the books and mailing each month.
